"there's purpose behind this"

Broken for Purpose

Latonya grew up before her time after being introduced to adult behavior at the age of six. Being molested by her father and hearing him say “I love you” was common grounds when a little boy used the exact words. She had no idea that what happened to her would bring forth more afflictions and adversities to her life. Latonya began to confuse love with sex allowing multiple spirits in to have their way with her. Betrayal, rape, and poor self-image were the gateway to her settling for all the things she never deserved. Her heart turned to stone towards men after years of disappointment and deception. She had no idea that the same hatred that brewed over time would be the same hatred that landed her in prison for five years. Blaming everyone for all that she was facing, she began to live an alternative lifestyle in search of love from anyone willing to give it. The void needed to be filled. Missing pieces needed restoration. It was through these experiences that led her to the love of Jesus Christ. She was certain that her life had changed when she met the man who would eventually save her from herself. Allen would be the only man that would gain her attention and keep it. Soon came Cameren, their first born. And not long afterwards, Latonya gave birth to the twins, Briana and Brice. After giving her life to Christ and bringing three children in the world, Latonya had no idea that she’d face yet another disappointment in a man. To forgive her past of constant betrayal and hurt by men, come out of lesbianism, give her life to Christ, and trust again just to be hurt by another man, was something that could have nearly killed what was left inside of her. Single mother of three; what does she do next? How does she cope with this life changing experience? Does she grow bitter or better? She knows with God in control, the worst can be turned for her good. And so with that, she still stands as she tells the story of being BROKEN FOR PURPOSE.

Psalms 147:3-5

**3He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

4He counts the stars and calls them all by name.

5How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!
